Jorge Luis Hernandez Pouyú

Born on March 27, 1967, in Santiago de Cuba, he is a member of the Hermanos Saíz Association and the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
He first studied art at the José Joaquín Tejada School of Visual Arts. In 1985 he moved to Havana, where he joined the Eduardo Abela Experimental Painting Workshop and worked at the Rene Portocarrero Silkscreen Workshop, affiliated with the Cuban Cultural Foundation, in Cathedral Square.
He participated in the Julio Le Parc Workshop, the CODEMA workshops, and the 2nd Biennial of Havana (1986). In 1988 he was invited by the Center for the Development of the Visual Arts to participate in the Paper Making Workshop, as part of the 3rd Biennial of Havana.

Jorge Luis Hernandez Pouyú – Biografía
Nace el 27 de marzo de 1967 en la cuidad de Santiago de Cuba. Miembro de la Asociación Hermanos Saíz y de la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC).
Cursa estudios elementales en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas “José Joaquín Tejada”. En 1985 se traslada a la capital del país, integrándose al Taller Experimental de Pintura “Eduardo Abela”, trabaja en el Taller de Gráfica de Serigrafia “Rene Portocarrero”, auspiciado por el Fondo Cubano de Bienes Culturales en la Plaza de la Catedral.
Participa en el Taller Julio Le Parc, en los talleres del CODEMA, II Bienal de La Habana, 1986. En 1988 es invitado por el Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales a participar en el Taller de Fabricación de Papel, en el marco de la III Bienal de La Habana.

Actualmente vive y crea en su ciudad natal, Santiago de Cuba.
