In 1953 Max was introduced to many artist and styles while living in Paris. This is where he first saw Lautrec and Alphonse Mucha work; both became two of Peter's biggest influences. While in Paris he studied drawing and sketching at the Louvre Museum.

Just a few years later living in New York City he quickly became one of the most influential artist of the 1960s American Counter-Culture. Since then Max has been and is one of the most popular living artist with over forty museum exhibitions and probably several hundred art gallery shows.  

This rare portrait by Max of Toulouse Lautrec one of his favorite artist was probably painted during the 'purest creative point' of his very long career
