Born in Miami, Florida and lived with military family in Panama, Germany, Italy.

-Began art studies in Rocky Mount, NC
-Full scholarship to North Carolina Governor's School for Gifted Students

Virginia Commonwealth University Fine Arts Program, Richmond, VA

Studios in Boston, Quebec, Aspen, Richmond and New Orleans. Began working with musicians motif in New Orleans (1978)

-Studios in Tampa Bay, Sarasota, and Miami
-First public exhibition of 75 paintings in Tampa, half of which sold in one night (1990)
-Owner/Operator of Modern Art Gallery, Sarasota, FL (1990-95)

-Two year stint living/working in New England, New York City
-Exhibitions in UK, Toronto, Canada

-Maintain studio-residence in Western North Carolina

Created original painting, "The Spirit of Santa Cruz" as theme image for marketing the 2014 Santa Cruz Film Festival (Santa Cruz, CA)

-Design and create 8 sets for stage production of The Music Man for Hendersonville Little Theater, Hendersonville, NC
-Working extensively with motif, "Painting Music"; figures with musical instruments using color and form to capture the emotion of musical expressions in Jazz, Latin, Folk and Classical

2010 to Present 
-Feature Article by Paul M. Howey in The Laurel of Asheville Arts and Culture, February Issue
-Created collection as guest artist for BlackBird Gallery, Asheville, NC: "Dance Partners" explores the power of mutual support and love during difficult times  

2009 to Present 
-Large scale figurative paintings with the live model as active contributor; the "Model as Muse" series
-Host bi-annual studio events to introduce emerging artists

Site specific commissions for "Flamenco!"; a collection of 12 large scale paintings for Ceviche Restaurants in Tampa, Sarasota and Orlando, FL

Created modernist portraiture commissions utilizing family snapshots and stories, including a successful family portrait for a British family living in Abu Dhabi communicating entirely over the internet

Original painting, "Spanish Guitar" chosen by Toronto Symphony Orchestra as theme image for music series, "Ole; A celebration of Spanish Music"
