Neil was born in Connecticut, and has been a Florida resident since his family made the move South in 1950 when he was a young teenager. Neil's careers and interests are very diversified. As a career Firefighter for the city of St. Petersburg, Neil studied commercial art and design and became a Commercial Artist, an Art Director, and a Photographer before launching his career into a self publishing Artist. He was also a Classic Car Restorer, a construction worker and a skilled scuba diver.
Neil's painting career launched in 1968 and he has remained a committed artist to this day. To date he has won over 250 awards in National, Regional, and local shows. His art has earned Signature Memberships in 3 major Watercolor Societies: the American,( his lifelong goal!) the National, and the Florida Watercolor society. Between the years of 2009 and 2013, Neil was honored with 7 awards from the FWS. The most recent award being the ''Guy Beattie Silver Signature '' Award. He has been honored to have his work selected 8 times for the AWS International Exhibitions in New York. The latest being in 2012. The awards are the highlights of his long and accomplished career.

Neil Hamilton Adamson has traveled extensively throughout the United States. His main interest being the National Parks and the Coastlines of the East and West. Also, his travels have included the British Columbia and Canada in particular Nova Scotia...always looking for a new interest for his paintings.
Currently Adamson resides in St Petersburg, Florida with his wife, Jeanne and their dog Bailey.. A REAL work of Art!!
